plush letters and zine.
Alphapets was a project that Ellie Puljak, Taylor Jernigan, and myself created together. We made individually packaged plush letters each with their own unique expression and personality. The pets themselves are constructed out of sewn felt panels and hand-glued eyes and mouths. To educate on the origin and backstory of these plush characters, we created a field journal zine observing the behaviors of the Alphapets. Titled Alphapets In The Wild, we follow the pets to a local park and around downtown Ruston, LA. Their journey is well documented with photographs depicting many different mischiefs and precarious situations. Each book has hand stitched covers wrapped in felt with their own unique faces as well. We sold the books and each of the letters individually at the LA Tech School of Design Book Fair along with a certificate of adoption where each new owner signed and promised to love and care for their new Alphapet.
