experimental typeface using light and shadow.
Pinpoint is a typeface modeled off of Helvetica. It was created using cardboard, nail tacks, and an iPhone flashlight. The nail tacks were used to puncture holes into a sheet of cardboard, tracing the letter forms then shining a light through those holes. I photographed the letters as they were interpreted by the light filtered through the cardboard. This process created inconsistencies and a haze effect that makes each letter unique. I did this for each letter, edited the photos to bump up the contrast while keeping the hazy effect that the light creates.
